Since our founding, MIDIP has been on a mission to empower individuals with disabilities through advocacy, education, and support programs. Explore our journey of impact below.
Our initiatives have touched lives across Kenya and beyond, creating ripples of positive change in communities where persons with disabilities face the greatest challenges.
Through strategic partnerships and grassroots efforts, we've expanded our reach year after year, bringing hope and practical solutions to those who need it most.
This initiative is a reflection of our broader mission: to empower youth with disabilities by putting them at the forefront of advocacy and change. Whether through mental health conversations, inclusive education, or climate justice campaigns, we ensure their voices shape the dialogue.
Recognizing the critical need for mental health support, we established a comprehensive network of counselors and peer support groups. This initiative has provided over 500 counseling sessions and created safe spaces for individuals with disabilities to address their mental health needs.
We had the honor of gifting a brand-new wheelchair in partnership with Lions Club to a young boy living with a physical disability—an act that symbolized freedom and mobility. This program continues to provide essential mobility aids to those in need.
Following International Women's Day, we hosted a powerful post-celebration event centered on young women with disabilities. Through inclusive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) discussions, motivational speeches, and the distribution of dignity kits, we created a safe space for empowerment, healing, and sisterhood.
